Jerel: Before we start, ma’am. Pwede mangutana unsay pangalan and position sa DILG?

Neila: Doctor Neila Aquino.

What’s the position?

Cluster Head of DILG Cebu City.

One thing that we want to understand, ma’am. Nagulat kami sa bulk sa laki ng government, ma’am when we were researching sa app. Kasi this is resolving a personal problem na hindi namin alam kung sino ang boboto at paano iboboto. When we were researching, ma’am, nakita namin ang size sa government na uh, actually we’re electing 18,000 people into power this may tapos kung isama pa natin ang baranggay officials later this year, may 420, 000. Grabe po pala! Uh, Then, yung mga kandidato, tapos hindi pa natin alam, ive been asking people around ano po bang trabaho ng governer, tapos hindi nila masagot. Let’s focus on the president nalang ma’am.

Ano po ang key responsilibties ng president?

And key responsibliites ng president ay basically siya iyung nagpapatakbo ng executive department ng government. kay if we have to disect the entire organization of the philippine governemnt, we have three branches man jud noh. So we have execvutive, legislative, and judiciary. The head of the executive is the president himself. But then of course he has to oversee the entire operation of the country, but in terms of operations. Uh, we have what we call independence from each of the branch of the government. So basically, executive rajud ang president.

Unsay key responsibilities?

Key responsibilities, uhm, to make sure that he supervises all the departments noh? Of the national agencies and of course the local government unit. from the governer down to the baranggay officials, but then again, dako man kaayo ang scope, so, uhm, we have the departments to assist the rpesident, specialyl the DILG. For the president to run the tneire country, especially the local government.

how do we know if the president is doing a good job?

We have service, uhm, service na not directly pointing the president but service of the performance of the department and of course the local government unit. So for the performacne of the LGU, we have a lot of tools use no, most especially the DILG asssessing the performance of the LGU from the provinces down to the baranggays. So basically, we cannot assess directly the performance of the president by, with him alone.

Vice president?

For the vice president, uhm, she or he is the second in command of the coutnry, and of course, also, also supervising the executive department. But, depende sa delegated authority na ibigay sa kanya ng presidente. So like for example, for the perview sa administrations, uhm, there were vice presidents na naghandle ng department, noh? Specific department, so, but then for now, I don’t know with Leni.

Pero yung key role talaga niya ma’am? Key responisbilities.

Assist the president. Same executive department. But with, of course, as the second in-command, as we see it, murag lesser ang iyahang exposure direct exposure to the people and to the deparmtnet and LGU’s. It’s because the president is still there. (woah)
